Being a Vango air awning owner I can only say this. We went with Vango as they were the originators of Air Awnings. We have 2, Very big and a smaller one. We have been very pleased with their products. In the years that we have had the 'big one' other manufacturers went over to air. I have looked at pictures of your Airdale 12, and that is a big awning. Is it not possible to just buy an extra bedroom inner tent to fit inside somehow? for just night time use? and dismantle for the day use of the awning. Elastic is a wonderful thing when you need it. That way you will have the separate bedroom and you can, when you dismantle it for daytime, store it in the 'other bedroom. Another thing I would say is, now that awnings of larger sizes are available to run alongside the vehicle rather than away from it you do have a bigger choice. Kampa awning fabric is thicker and a whole lot heavier. They are though, very good to excellent in use. Everything has plus or minus points when you make your choice. Heavier and thicker does not mean more of anything like waterproofing etc. It is probably expected to last longer. Our Vango big one was bought in 2011, and is used by 'Fisherfolk' who are not known for being careful when away from the bank. Much like teenagers I guess.
We are pleased with our awnings, but know plenty of people with the Kampa brand who are equally pleased. They however are all caravan folk. Thinking here of weight for your V.W. Trawl the net, and look at reviews. Good Luck.
