hello everyone, we have a problem that I am sure others with dodgy knees will also endure. The drop from the cab to the ground is too high for us people with short legs. We need to get an extra step fitted on both sides and wondered if anyone knew of a company in the midlands or Lincolnshire that make and/or fit these. I did find one in Dorset but a bit too far. Thanks in advance.

Just use the hab door
We rarely use the cab doors.
But I have seen the thule slide out steps used.
Any caravan or motorhome dealer should be able to fit these

If I have to come out of the cab door I do it backwards hanging on to the 'Jesus Christ' handle. I just seem to have more control.

Argos sell a portable large plastic disability step for around £20, about 50cm wide, 70cm across, 8cm high, it is a really big help, and like you, l find a backward dismount much easier than trying to go forward. I have drilled the side of my step and threaded through some strong plastic twine, long enough to lower the step to the ground and retrieve it back up whilst inside my van, its also handy to take with you if ever you find yourself faced with a hotel bed made for long legged giants, and not someone with a short 25ins inner leg measurement like me!

How about this Double step with handrail

Seen one used quite easily, only issue is storage when on the move.

storage is the problem.. we do, at the moment, use a small fold up step. and "fish" for it, with a bungee. Quite comical.

Towtal at Stoke On Trent did our electric cab step, wire through ignition for retraction and a convenient switch for getting it out
Bit of a travel for you but they will allow overnight stop with a hook up
