The external Tv input socket on our Avante was the type you have for linking to a satalite dish, and we had to convert it to take a normal Tv coax cable so we could connect upto the Caravan Clubs external TV points as used on some of their sites. If you are connecting to the caravans own Avtex roof Arial then you will need to follow the instructions in your TV handbook to switch this option on using the menus on your TV display.
My Avtex is a 2013 model with built in Dvd player that was supplied with the caravan as standard from new. Later models may have changed the operating system, but all l know was that our Tv set up was next to useless until our dealer showed us how to set up and connect to the Avtex roof ariel on our caravan, and now it works fine in most areas of the Uk.
