We are planning on buying a new Swift compact 404 motorhome from Brownhills, Newark. We're getting on a bit now and need a few more home comforts so have decided to swap our pop up roof campervan and awning tent for inside facilities. Hooray! My question is, does anyone have any experience of after sales care from Brownhills or quality of Swift motorhomes? Thanks
As,is with a lot of other manufacturers, there is quite a bit of negative comment about Swift motorhomes on the internet.
Mainly damp problems with rotting floors!

As with many things, you largely get what you pay for. In our experience around various shows, Swift can seem a bit flimsy compared to other makes. The cupboards rattle, the doors flex. But you seem to get a lot of extras included for the money & there are plenty out there.
I don't know if they have an owners Forum, that would be a good place to check what questions people are posting.
Swift get a hell of a lot of flack for bad construction and repairs being required to new vans/motorhomes...The chap who serviced our van a couple of years back had just visited the ''defect rectification dept'' at Swift and said not only was it as big as the manufacturing unit but it was full up with new vehicles and vans returned for repairs
If you look round swift vans only a few years old, you see an awful lot of wear and tear inside compared to the same age foreign vans. There are several motorhome forums where you can get advice and probably see lots of comments and threads. One also has a review section for the dealers - not sure if Brownhills is mentioned but would be surprised if not.
We are fairly new to motorhoming so surpris d at how many snags there seems to be on new vans. Lots of advice out there to go for a us d van for this reason.
