We have a Pilote with a couple of Gaslow 11kg cylinders.
I put the filler in the locker and I've never been refused in France or UK.
Fitted the system myself, a gas engineer checked it was okay and there's no more scraped knuckles, swearing or crushed toes lifting bottles in and out - which is much easier for me as I get older.
Think of them as an investment as the whole system can be transferred from one Motorhome to another if you change your MH or, heaven forbid, sold if you have to stop Motorhoming.
You should get around 42 litres in the two bottles when full and that will give quite a few weeks of gas supply – one less thing to worry about.
And with a decent Solar panel and two leisure batteries you may never need to pay for EHU again - and what a cost saving that will be .....
I've been thinking about fitting a refillable system, but my gas locker is inside the van I have to open the sliding door to gain access to it, Would I have a problem filling the system at the fuel station ?
I like others here am a Safefill convert. 10Kg refillable bottle holding 19.5 Lt . My wife can easily lift in and out of van unlike the heavy Calor bottles. With Safefill you can also visually see ow much gas is in the bottle. I now only carry one bottle.
As for re filling it couldn't be easier. Just lift your bottle out of van and refill, some Morrisons fuel forecourts sell Lpg. But also there are lots of other places you can top up.
The initial outlay is high, but it will not take long before you make your returns.
Last year on a 5 week trip to France mainly off grid we used 11 Lt.
I purchased all the necessary adapters to refill in Europe but never used them.

Ed
Aye - our van is in process of being converted & we're having the 6kg Gas-it refillable put in. It's only for the hob as heater is red diesel or diesel (own tank). Lot less hassle here & abroad
