Been looking at some Milenco mirror protectors for our new MH & thinking they seem a good idea but for £60 they don’t appear to be very robust - just fairly thin plastic covers that stick on. Does anyone have experience of these and how effective they are please ? Grateful for any advice before I part with my hard earned cash

I have had them on for 3 years and they are reasonably robust. Until last week I had never hit anything with my mirror but I then caught a pole driving into the check-in at Eurotunnel - - no damage done I am pleased to say.
On my previous MH without the protectors I touched another vans mirror at very low speed and wrecked my mirror.

Sorry, but IMO I place them in "boys toys" there are hundreds of gadgets and thingy me bobs out there ,I would use that money on the van maintenance and fuel, but its peoples money and of course they can spend it as they like.

We don't have mirror protectors (any brand)we have however had to buy the indicator lamps, and both on the driver side.
The first time was in Somerset, where we had a stone wall nearside, and off side a speeding Ambulance coming towards us. On both occasions the indicator light was still working, and a small piece of sticky tape saved it for many months. We ordered the new one , never fitted it, and sold the van with the replacement still unfitted. I guess that was asking for trouble, as within a couple of months we had need of another same offside, a 'vanman' with his arms cuddling his steering wheel and 'phone in hand. Took out the indicator light again....not bothered by that, just hope his fell to pieces . We sold that vehicle with the right hand indicator lamp siliconed up.
If you weigh up that the indicator and the mirror (Not the housing) were 'taken out' at the same time, it does not mean that the housing will be. Some are, but twice ours was fine. It has not made me think about getting mirror protectors. The arms are made to swing backwards anyway, I am taking the risk. Third time?...who knows.

We have them on our motorhome and so glad we did when a white van man not paying attention came too close to our side of the road and hit the wing mirror. It made a horrendous bang and the force of the collision folded our wing mirror in. When we pulled over expecting to see a very smashed wing mirror, we were very surprised to find only scratches and black marks on the cover. However, the white van didn’t have protectors and his wing mirror was scattered all over the road.
The protectors are quite expensive but worth it, especially if you compare to the cost of replacing a wing mirror on a motorhome

I've fitted mirrorguards to my van, cost a lot more than milenco but they are a lot thicker and look like the could take a wack.

They also look good on the van

We’ve got them. We had Mirrorguard originally, they’re very sturdy, a bit like a crash helmet. A van coming the other way hit the drivers side one. The mirror protector was smashed and the original mirror casing underneath was damaged but fortunately only needed the indicator replacing. It was a lot cheaper to replace the protector than the whole thing.

We've had them fitted for six years - twice been hit (obviously not my fault) and no damage to the mirror and only slight scratches to the protector.

Here's on I did earlier - https://youtu.be/XFi5Lx2y2ug

I was told that they are a bit flimsy, but if you was as lucky as me there was a pair of mirror guard on auction on eBay I offered him 50 quid no wait until the end of the auction I did and got them for 27 pound.
And they are tough and solid.
