Hi,

Just wondering.

Looking for a campervan that I could use as a 'daily driver' around home, but that would have a toilet.

I'd have thought any 5m long campervan with a high top that used the front seats as part of the bed would have ample room for a shower/toilet, kitchen and plenty of bed space.

Is there any reason why I've never seen such a thing?

Yes, they do exist, I own one. It's a Romahome R30 which is 5 mtrs long and utilises the front seats to form two single beds along with the 2 front facing rear seats. This leaves room for a slide out wardrobe and washroom/toilet on one side and a full kitchen on the other.

This model is pretty rare and I have only ever seen a couple, and an earlier Stimson which was the forerunner of the R30.

Thanks both, I'm looking at the R30 and Stimson now - there's one on Autotrader that looks ideal.

Am I right that Harmonys are always Peugeot Boxers? Is there anywhere where all the specifications are in one place for autocampers?

I looked at aDuetto but it was 5.5m and didn't have that seat folding action.

FYI, the newer Romahome R30's (which I would recommend - cost permitting), use the Ford Puma diesel engine and mechanics. The 2.2L 100bhp engine has a timing chain rather than a belt and is very economical. I get 35-38 mpg. It's a very nippy vehicle and the brakes are fantastic. Mine has had 3 Mot's without as much as an 'advisory'.

My previous van was on a Peugeot Boxer and was very reliable. The most problem I had with is was corrosion on brake pipes.

Many VW converters have a layout that incorporates a rear galley kitchen / wardrobe with a fixed toilet in the rear. There are then two single rear passenger seats which, when the front driver / passenger seat are swivelled make two single beds. I know as we have exactly this layout and absolutely love it.

A few such examples are:
Bodans Clee
Jerba Senna
Rolling Homes Livingstone

They can be either in a swb or lwb version, we have a lwb and find it gives us loads of storage room, particlulary as if like us you replace the fixed toilet with extra storage & a porta potti

Autosleeper Symbol, Symphony or Duetto do not use the front seats for beds.
Harmony Symbol & Symphony are Boxer based. Duetto is Transit based.
