I am surprised that a Pinto is in a camper, but they were used in early Transits. The Pinto was used in the Escort/Cortina/Granada range and sought after for kit cars. Even Mustangs and suchlike in the States used them. It could be well tuned. Hopefully the camper has a suitable gearbox mated to the Pinto, or it just will not have the ability to handle the weight. My recollection of Cortinas and Sierras was an MPG of 27 ish, but we are comparing apples and oranges. Of course there were many variations and sizes and carburettors or injection systems. The phrase Pinto means very little I'm afraid, and you need to have a good length of test drive in a loaded condition to discover what you have.
