We have just purchased a second hand motorhome that has the Vision plus Status 570 Antenna system installed.
The previous owner had damaged the antenna so we agreed that I would get a new one installed.
The installer had to purchase a full system (fair enough, you struggle to buy an antenna on its own)
We picked it up with the new antenna fitted but noticed he left the original VP2 amplifier in the wardrobe rather than fitting the VP5 amp that came with the new antenna (he left this in the box with all the other spare parts)
Basically my question is, is there a difference between the VP2 and VP5 Digital Amps and is it worth getting it fitted?
I would fit the VP5 as it includes a signal finder. Turn the aerial until the green led shows and you will have a good signal, it avoids turning the aerial slowly all night while somebody else shouts yes, no, or turn it a bit more.
It's a 5 minute job to swap the leads over to the new unit and fix the 2 screws to the wall, the screws should fit the existing holes.
I contacted VP but thought I would try here first as you usually get quick responses. VP Said the same regarding the signal finder being better. Sounds like it is and advantage to have the VP5. Will get the van out of storage and change them over this weekend.
