Just wondering what members opinions and advice on fitting fly screens to campervans? I'm currently moving from camping to buying a campervan and knowing how flying insects are a problem in tents I'm considering buying some custom made fly screens for the tailgate and sliding door entrance to our van conversion.
B&M have house door sized mesh screens for about £3.00 Might be out of season now. They can be cut with scissors. They are held together with magnets. May well need 3 packets to do the two van doors with their extra width. You would need a method of fixing to the van, but if you are practical, you could do something with the magnets to cure that. I have this on my back door at home and it is brilliantly effective, and so cheap that any damage by the cats and dog really does not matter. It has proved more than capable of being clawed out of the way by them when they want to pass.
We have a couple of those nets which we sometimes pin to the inside of the door and tailgate. However on our recent holiday we have decided to make curtains from them, with weights on the bottom so they stay in place. Then we'll buy 'something' to cover those windows at night, some of that silver stuff.
Thanks for all replies think I've made my mind up to go for the custom made fly screens. I will be shipping them over from Australia where the HiAce is much more popular. They won't be cheap but I think they will be an asset to the van in summer. Link to website https://www.sscampervans.com/
