Hi, this is my first post, having joined after searching for information on the web about Thetford N3000 series Fridge, 12V problems. Interesting reading was the Topic: Thetford Fridge Error 6 but the subject was begun on 28/10/2018 and the last comment posted by harold52 on 25/8/2019 was a question. Surprisingly there have been no replies.
I have a 2014 Rapido 640 collected in March 2014. It has a Thetford N3150 Fridge/Freezer and in May 2017 as I set off from Devon to the Outer Hebrides and Northern Scotland, the 12V failed to operate whilst driving. I managed by using lpg with the Truma hoses with cut-out. On return home in July 2017 part of the Fridge PCB was found to have 'burnt out' and a new PCB and LCD display board kit 691139 was fitted. Cost £199 plus £96 labour. Unfortunately the original was just outside Thetford 3 year warranty.
Last week on the way home from a month in France, the 12V suddenly failed whilst driving, showing Error 6. Again out of warranty. Before I spend out on another new 691139 kit I want to check out the Relay mentioned by Third on 18/8/2019. Can anyone tell me where it is located and if any of the fuses on the fuse box in the engine compartment control the 12V to the Fridge? The Fridge works fine on log and 240V.
