Thank you. I am planning that trip on the morning of 3rd June, for the Commemorations surrounding the 80th anniversary of the rearguard action of 51st Highland Division, and their ultimate surrender, but not before my Uncle was killed close to Abbeville. Have been hanging back on booking until the end of the month hoping to learn something from the Brexit situation, and have just found out that I have cataracts needing attention. So will we be going or not? Your guess is as good as mine.
Finder, just book that trip. Part of my Dad’s history too, so I can understand the need to go. You don’t know when your cataracts op might happen, you can defer it if it’s timetabled for the same time as the commemorations. Clear vision but miss the day? Foggy vision but you’re there to pay your respects? No right or wrong, whatever feels right in your circumstances.
