Hope this is OK to ask. Was driving the van just as it was getting dark and all the lights on the dashboard went out along with the front lights. Checked all the fuses and can't find an thing that has blown. Any ideas greatly received
When you say that you have checked all the fuses, is that just visually or with a voltmeter?
If it's the former then you can't always tell just by looking as it has been known for fuses to blow but visually still look okay with the naked eye.
Personally I would class the dashboard and front lights going out immediately as an emergency and therefore inclined to contact your breakdown company as they can test and detect faults in just a few minutes.
Check the dip switch, I had a similar problem about 30 years ago which I eventually tracked down to the dip/indicator switch. Not sure why that would affect the dash lights though.
You confirmed that the fuses had already been checked with a voltmeter therefore the offending fuse should have been detected when tested.
However, thank you for replying anyway and glad you got the problem sorted.
