Just bought small motorhome and would like a small TV to take with us. Can anyone tell us what to look out for in the tech jargon as I haven't a clue. Will only be using the van in this country so satellite dish is probably going too far. Just thought a small aerial would do. Won't be too upset if we can't find channels on some sites as always have a good book to read.
If you are going to be always on sites with 230v EHU then any small mains TV will do. Best to get yourself to a local Currys or John Lewis to see what is available. Its not a bad idea to see then actually on so you can test the angle of view. As to aerials we found the Avtex STH 3000 you can just sticker it on the side of the van. Don't forget quite a few sites have TV hook ups on the electric bollard, often all you need is a long (25 metre) co-ax cable.
We have Avtex which we bought via John Lewis and got a 5 year warranty.
A friend has a less expensive Cello TV which also lets him wirelessly “cast” Netflix and iPlayer from his phone which is a bonus ( you can connect phone to avtex using cables but if you have an iPhone the apple branded cable is another £50)
------------- It's only an expensive hobby when it's parked on your Drive....use it, love it , live it.
Have a look at Cello - they are every bit as good as Avrtex without the Rolls Royce price tag. They also run off 12v and take less current than a ‘normal’ TV so if using off piste the leisure battery will run it for longer.
