Our motorhome has an underslung gas tank. We usually fill this at our local Shell garage, but I have just read that Shell will no longer be selling Autogas/LPG. When I check on the FillLPG website there are very few filling stations available near us. Has anyone else found difficulty filling up with LPG?
Thanks for all the replies.
We have found a great source just right for us and unlikely to be discontinued.
The Calor Centre at Voyager Park North off Portfield rd, Portsmouth has an Autogas pump. Only open on weekdays. Funnily enough this is off the next turning on the left after South Down Motorhomes! With all the big Concords there, they have a good customer base.
Also handy for anyone using the Ferryport.
At 62p per litre it's cheap too!
There is a drop-off in the amount of LPG stations, apparently due to the lack of interest in LPG car conversion which will be frustrating for us that use bulk tanks or refillables such as Safefill. As we have to concede it is the volume sold for propulsion that helps subsidised the lower volume leisure users.
Now if tug owners went back to petrol in large numbers and gas convert them we'd be all good.
I had a grant towards a LPG conversion to dual fuel and it was good on the mainland, barring a few detours. When that car died, I didn't go for the dual fuel option because the planned LPG outlet on the island didn't go ahead. I still look for LPG when driving around but they seem to be few and far between.
