I have a 2001 Swift Sundance and I am thinking about having the gas oven removed - keeping the grill and hob, and replacing the gas oven with a microwave oven. I’d plan to have it done professionally covering ventilation/fixing etc. Has anyone done this on their motorhome - I’d be interested in your thoughts. Happy New Year too!

ok we only have a caravan, but why? its not worth the expense for a start, plus your limiting yourself if and when the ellecy goes off, you can always take a microwave and place on a table if your food has to be done that quickly, personally I prefer things cooked in an oven with some colour on them. a lilly white chicken ok would be cooked but it certainly doesn't look appietising does it?

I know someone who did the same with a caravan a few years ago. Big mistake as it suited their lifestyle whilst they owned it but when they decided to sell it became a big problem as nobody was interested due to the fact it was absent of a gas cooker. Even though they reduced the price dramatically people were saying that they wanted to go on holiday in it not take on a restoration project. Eventually it was sold to a dealer who was laughing all the way to the bank!
