Hi I’m looking to know of anyone that supplies new parts for a carver 3000s gas heater. My problem is that it doesn’t light up it sparks but that’s it. Stopped working a few weeks ago when we were last out. I’m thinking it could be ether the jet or the valve that lets gas in. Only info will be greatly appreciated.

At a guess I would suggest the thermocouple as the more likely culprit. Often a universal item.

The problem is when you start THINKING what is, it quite often turns out not to be the problem so you have to then replace something else till you finally eliminate the offending part. That can be a costly method so why not just have a service engineer look at it and they will detect which part has malfunctioned. It takes out the guess work and in the long run could work out cheaper.

If you have butane gas, (eg blue calor or camping gaz), it will stop working on gas when the temperature gets down towards freezing.

This is caused by butane not gassing at low temperatures. As soon as it warms up it works.

I would say that's more likely to be your problem as you definitely need Propane gas during winter months especially if the temperature drops to below 3 degrees. However, if you do some research on Butane and Propane gas on the net or in caravan handbooks it will explain more in detail about the applications.
