hi, so i have a 2005 Fiat milano ace Motorhome, it is now time for its MOT and as im ringing round MOT centers, they are asking me what CLASS it is.. i think its a class 4 ... but not sure, ???
it is 3400Kg permissible laden weight ..20ft 3 inches long, 7 ft 3" wide 9 ft 10" high
any help pleeeeese ?? thanks :O)
My garage in Ayrshire is a listed AA one. They have to achieve certain standards to get the accreditation. There’ll be one up there, I’m sure. Any garage does have to have a high enough ceiling to get your vehicle up onto the ramp - that limited where we could get an exhaust done.
we have a caravan now but we had a motorhome for 12 years. It was a 2.8 ducato and the first time I had it tested the tester swore a ducato was class 7, and it is until a habitation is fitted on the back and then it reverts to class 4. I made him check on the phone which put egg on his face. A "C" class motorhome like yours is definitely a class 4.
After that I always took it to a local haulage company who although had plenty of height tested it using a pit
Any mot centre can test a motohome either using a pit or ramp if they have the correct one for the weight and height allowance
.
All motorhomes are class 4 that even includes the big american RVs.
Another thing to note that if over 3500kg it should of been taxed as PHGV which is cheaper road tax than PLG but that will depend on what the dealer who first taxed it decared it as, a lot were taxed PLG when they should of been PHGV
