Hi. New to campervans and would appreciate any input. Tried a camper car, a modified and very cheap Vauxhall Zafira but the engine management unit went before I could use it for its designated purpose and it wasn’t worth the repair. Now I’m looking at a single bed Romahome R10. 2009 with 30,000 miles. Had a long chat to the dealer who was very helpful. It looks great in the photos. Quite a few features. I’m looking for something without too many bells and whistles. Comfort and reliability are key along with running costs. If anyone has any feedback I’d love to hear from you. I’m a really keen hiker and cyclist so I’d like to fit a towbar bike rack for a bike, hopefully not too expensive, and just have a place to lay my head.
We don't have one but I've never heard anything against the Romahomes. I don't know if that one has a toilet (probably in a cupboard).
The key thing I'd hope owners could advise you on is the bike rack. (We carry our bikes inside.) A rack needs needs to be fitted in the right place or you can get water ingress. Or fit a towbar rack. Again, I'm sure you'll get much more advice soon.
Have a look at smallmotorhome co uk. That is the site for Small campers and Romahome in particular. You should be able to get all the info you need there from R10 owners.
I have an R30 which is a different beast altogether, but I'm very impressed by its build quality.

I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
Hi just wondering myself to buy a Romahome but know Nothing about them so many models..? Just wondered if you found a good model + what you would reccommend + best place to look.. Single mom with daughter wanting to travel!
Hi. I’m still waiting to collect my Romahome R10 due to the lockdown although I have reserved it with a deposit. It’s got a single bed so it might be too small for two people. It’s well thought out though and practical as it’s a small van size. I just Googled campervans and it came up with several choices including South Devon Motorhomes who I’m impressed with. Good luck.
Arrrh did u get yours from South Devon motorhomes? I was wondering also to buy from a dealership..Yes I’m looking for small reliable + easy to drive no bells or whistles. What made u choose that model? Thanks

Hi. I did but that’s no recommendation. They had what I wanted but I found several others elsewhere online. I got what I felt, without going into too much detail, a package that provided me with peace of mind. I haven’t bought many vehicles in my life so peace of mind was a big consideration, even if the initial outlay was a little higher. The R10 is easy to drive and park. Understated but practical. A diesel engine with great MPG, cheap insurance and tax, good reviews. I’m sure several others are comparable. For example I saw several Fiat Diablo conversions so there are choices. Hope this helps.
Just a thought but have you looked at buying a standard Berlingo or Peugeot Partner and fitting an Amdro boot jump, I recently saw one online and have to say I was mighty impressed, That way if the car dies in the future you can just take the boot jump out and put it in another one.
That way you can also have a car whenever you need it , a van, and a camper van all in one.

I have a 2001 Romahome Duo (2 berth)on a Berlingo chassis. I can't fault it for build quality.
It's small enough to be used as an every day vehicle and can get to places bigger camper vans can't. Though interior space is limited for 2 people.
Depending on your budget go for the Berlingo and avoid the earlier C15 based models as they suffered badly from Tin Worm.
Look at the Small motorhome forum for info.
