Hi, we have a autotrail and we have a baby gate for the dog, but there's a half moon shaped gap when the doors open, anybody found a solution to stop dog getting underneath gate and escaping?
Never neard of that, or seen it. So I'm guessing....
Front passenger door at present, but habitation door has a flat bottom edge - move the baby gate to that door? Or attach a net to the baby gate if it has to stay at the front and tuck the net under the footwell carpet to hold it?
Hi its the habitation door, the gap is because the door closes into this half moon shape, but when we've got habitation door open it leaves a decent gap that the dog can get through, the net would need to be secure at bottom, we have hudini in dog form 🤣
We have an Autotrail and I know exactly your problem. With the door closed that half moon is for the waste bin to fit into. Not a problem when both you and dog are inside. When you leave the bottom of the cut away forms the step.
Get a piece of cardboard, make a template of the shape, and measure the height of the rise from bottom to top.
Buy or find a piece plywood maybe 1/2" thickness. Place template on the wood, mark it out, cut it out. Then make 2 sides for the 1/2 moon that will fit into the foot well and attach to your new top to give you the height /support that you need to level it with the actual van floor. If you use your bin....you will have to take the new 'floor' out of course. The bins are useless anyway, an idiot designed them. Good luck with it you will be pleased by the simple effort involved. The dog...well that is not gong to like it at all.

What a fantastic easy to follow reply.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Thank you, Blueexpo97, and thank you also Fiona W.
I always think I write way to much when I get to answer something on here. So just made it easy to follow.
It did help of course that we have an Autotrail. That darn bin is a complete waste of time anyway, it holds a beer can not crushed or 2 if you flatten them. We just hang a bag around the top clip on thingamy bob at the top.
Just hope now that alan..and who ever travels with him are sorted. The dog will not be happy. and the dog
