Some good advice from everyone above, the only thing I would add if looking at bongos is check carefully for signs of rust, they tend to suffer more than most other imports, especialy around the rear wheel arches, if looking at one allready imported check that it was rust proofed when it first arrived.
I haven't but many use "Japautoagent". You can save some money but there is quite a wait for it to be shipped and some hassle with DVLA and the cost and hassle of getting it made uk legal at a garage. Depends how you feel about hassle and delay versus saving a few quid.
Thanks down the hatch; I’m just trying to weigh up all options. Ideally, I’d like something already converted, but if anything, they appear to have gone up in price over lockdown.🥺
I bought ours from JAL Imports many years ago. The owner was a little odd but the vans he supplied were fantastic and the company was quite highly rated amongst Bongo owners.
Wheelquick in Wigan was another company that were highly rated too, along with Bongospares who I dealt with a few times for spare parts but I believe they also sell Bongos now.
A few years ago there were some dodgy companies importing Japanese vans, mostly Bristol based but not sure if it's still an issue.
