Hi all is it just me .i have a 2018 autotrail imala i have to keep in storage after two weeks and three days it will just start any longer than that it wont start and i have to jump it. Its so anoying is this normal it has a thatcham cat 1 alarm fitted
When you have jump started it how long do you run it to charge the battery?
Best to give it a run for a few miles to get it fully charged then see how long it lasts.
Two weeks + seems quite a short time
Marg6 has the best option, I use a portable 30w solar panel positioned inside the van by the window and it keeps the vehicle battery fully charged.
However 2 weeks for it to run down seems a bit excessive.
The tracker consumption is minimal, radio left on but volume turned down, interior light does not go out when door closed?
I have tried solar panel in the window had it back to stoneacr twice thay sead nothing wrong with the fiat side of it then tried to charge me 90 pounds an hour to investigate the problem . I am at a loss with it
ok other option is to remove a lead from the battery, however, this will also disarm your alarm system, are you sure you have absolutely everything switched off? failing that it may be time for a new battery, how old is your current one?
Most Motorhome manufacturers have a 2 year guarantee on some of the products in the mh, this may include the battery. My MH battery only lasted 18months from new when it got cooked, dead battery cell.
I see that you purchased the MH in 2018 so is it still under warranty?
Probably worthwhile getting the battery tested, halfords do it for free.
Thanks everyone its just out of warranty i think i have to buy a new battery then take it from there got to say stonacre were not a lot of help.just go's to show you bought it you got it .it was bought from danum motorhomes in doncaster thay have been very good
