Hi I have a 4 way switch OFF/1/2/Both. I am unsure which position to have this in under what circumstances. Also when on hook up do I turn this off? Thanks everyone

Really need a bit more info eg what make/model of the device the switch is part of. At a guess, this might refer to which battery the EHU charges - the leisure battery , vehicle battery or both.

What does the handbook say? If you don't have one, you might find it on-line.

Thanks for your quick response. Yes I have just bought this van. It is the battery switch selector between leisure and vehicle. There is no handbook

On my AutoSleeper Symbol, my panelswitch only has 2 positions - V (vehicle) and L (leisure) and you switch inbetween them depending on what battery is required to be charged.   I see no reason to have an off switch and I would be suprised if your panel allowed you to charge both batteries at the same time. Of course without knowing what van you have it is not easy to be more specific.

The base vehicle is largely irrelevant. Depending on the query it's the make and model of conversion or in this case, of the switch panel / charger etc., that's important. Is it eg. a Zig?

It looks like you might have either an M R Marine or Attwood battery switch..
The blurb for the Attwood ......

Single-pole, triple-throw switch permits four connection modes: battery one, battery two, two batteries in parallel, or both off.

This doesn't actually tell you anything because you need to know how the charger and leisure battery are wired. It could be a selector for the 12V habitation / utility supply eg lights, pump etc.. or it may refer to the charger when on EHU... or both.

In the absence of a handbook or talking to the converter / seller, I'm afraid that it will be a bit of detective work on your part.

Yes that’s what I thought but felt that I would ask here first. Unfortunately the converter has passed away and his brother who sold the van to me knows nothing about it.
