Our Bessacarr E435 bounces when anyone goes up or down the steps. We were thinking of getting a couple of steadies or jacks to put under the overhang but not sure where exactly is the best place to put them. Anyone else use steadies?

Our AS Nuevo has steadies fitted as standard. We don’t normally use them, the bounce at the back isn’t an issue. But in various Storms, like recent Ellen, the steadies have stopped the MH feeling like a boat being tossed in the waves. So we use them once or twice a year.
I know they’re extra weight and they were rusted solid on the previous AS Clubman.

We had some fitted as we suffered the same problem. Brilliant as they keep the van very steady.

One other point: if you get steadies, don’t bother with the “feet” that you buy separately. I’ve been told they’re noisy when the steadies are up, they flap about. But a 6x6 bit of wood or plywood under each leg stops them sinking deeper into the grass.

I appreciate that steadies might be useful in stormy weather, but the O.P. said that the van bounced when anyone went up or down the steps. That's why I questioned whether the springs / shocks were adequate and working correctly.

Yes I always put the rear steadies down onto square blocks of wood when on site, it certainly helps to stop movement...( I usually put the winding handle across the drivers seat to remind me to lift them again!)
