Looking at the halfords HLB700 leisure battery (rebadged YUASA LB36EFB ?).
HAs anyone got any comments on these please. I am replacing a Banner 115AHr and I know this is only 100 AHr but I mainly use EHU on holiday and only require limited off grid usage for compressor fridge and some hot water from my diesel heater for hand washings etc on days out.
I bought one 2years ago and it was good value for money and came with a 2 year guarantee
Alternatively look on the Internet and there are lots of battery warehouses offering top range manufacturers at discounted prices.
I looked at halfords for a Bosch battery and it was £30 more expensive than the exact model from a battery warehouse including next day delivery
But I am more than happy with the halfords leisure battery.
I bought a Halfords leisure battery. It seemed good value for money and I reckoned, if it was a problem in its first two years, you are never far from a branch of Halfords. It is now 4 years old.
I replaced the battery in my car with a Yuasa, so far so good! If I was replacing a leisure battery I would want to make sure it was a sealed unit. I have a Banner leisure battery in my motorhome and it's a pain remembering to top it up!!!
When I had to have my vehicle battery replaced about 2 years ago, the AA patrol man that came out said that they only ever fit two makes of good quality battery which are either Yuasa (Japanese) or Bosch (German). He fitted a Bosch battery on the car but I know that Yuasa is a highly recommended brand which are also used for mobility scooters due to their reliability so if the above is anything to go by then you should be buying a good quality battery.
