We have a 54 plate hightop T5. We normally insure it for the 2 months in the summer for European breakdown as we go to France without issue. However as the van is now older the usual options are not available or are asking over £250 - we've never claimed in 20 years so it's a difficult one.
Anyone got any ideas.
The comparison sites ha w proved unsuccessful. I've not tried the motor lbome insurers for breakdown as it's just a van really. I'll give them a try.
Thanks.
Allan
You could also try rac I think they provide cover for one of the main camping organisations, I’m sure someone else on this forum will have more information
I don`t know who you bank with but my Nationwide Flex Plus account gives me European cover for my MH and my car as well as travel insurance and mobile phone insurance. The account cost me, I think, £13 a month which works out much cheaper than buying those things elsewhere. In addition there is no charge for using my credit card for purchases abroad, and none for withdrawing cash with my debit card abroad.I had always hesitated changing my bank account, from NatWest, but Nationwide arranged everything for me (including DD`s and standing orders) in less than a week.

LV Britannia rescue cover our 2001 motorhome and any other vehicle that we drive, for Europe and uk. £190 last year.
As Badger has pointed out N/Wide Flex Plus account gives you EU and UK breakdown plus personal and other benefits for £156 per annum and as far as I can see there doesn't appear to be any vehicle age restrictions.
All that is required is that it has been maintained and has a current MOT, and that is provided by Brittani Rescue.
