I am just curious!
As I look out of my house window at the weather, it caused me to wonder where all the motorhome full timers are managing to find a pitch during lockdown.
All the main club sites are closed and I assume that the same applies to CLs, so where is open?
And what do you do to pass the time if you now have to self isolate in the caravan or motorhome.
I am really interested to hear how you have managed a difficult twelve months.

You will probably find most “full timers” are also home owners so they will have gone home. Nobody can live full time in motorhome or caravan without a bricks & mortar address even if it is a relative in order to do banking & insurance.

However with little enforcement of lockdown anyway I’m sure if one did want to full time in motorhome one could.

A lot of people do live full time in there vans. Theres a number who have Youtube channels and theres also the Vanlifers facebook group.
A lot of them have been really badly dealt with during lockdown, some terrible stories of people threatened with being burned alive in their vans

Not read anything about threats like that.
I do know for a fact that a small minority caused major problems in the first lockdown with dirty camping, when they disposed of their sewage, waste water & rubbish illegally. Not particularly an issue here at present because police are checking on essential travel.
But is sites being closed a problem? - fill water & LPG at fuel stations, have solar panels, usual informal camping.

I believe there is a concession that campsites are allowed to accommodate such people as essential workers and those who live permanently on site. I am sure that could cover someone living permanently in a caravan or motorhome.

There are some sites allowed to take full timers and during the last lock down the Bristol rugby club was allowed by the forward thinking council there to use their ground for full timers, I don't think that has happened this time mores the pity.

most of the FT I know have managed to find places to stay

I think the CMC allow use of a few of their sites for people who would have nowhere else to go including some of their own wardens.

Many have jobs in agriculture or similar sorts of places where they can park up. Many others are in Portugal, a routine which will soon be ending because of Brexit.

Interesting point that, Finder.
Presumably when they come back they will be required to stay in a quarantine hotel for 10 days. I wonder if the hotels have suitable parking for, presumably, large motor homes?

only if they have come from a red country on the list i.e. portugal, otherwise they either drive home and do 10days or go to one of the big clubs open sites (there are 4 sites open for fulltimers and sites open for essential workers) and do 10 days there, there are also private sites that are open to fulltimers as well
