Probably insufficient information to give specific advice, as no idea of significance of 'yellow light' - really need fridge make/model to comment on that. Also whether Caravan or Motorhome/Camper which can have some bearing on leisure battery operation.
General advice:
May be air in gas pipe after changing cylinder, try lighting gas cooker to get pipes full of gas again (only a small flame on fridge, takes a while to flush air out of pipe only on that!)
Fridge will require 12v supply from leisure battery for control panel (and possibly gas igniter) before it will operate on ANY (12v/240v/gas) power source.
OK, does the yellow illuminated switch 'flash' accompanied with a clicking noise when switched on? If it does, then it's a gas problem, either air in the line, or (and I've done this myself) forgotten to turn the gas on.
If the yellow light doesn't illuminate, then it's a 12V problem.

Hi the yellow light is very faint I always thought it was bright but been that long from I used it but will get husband to check out the 12 volt the 12 volt light up ok when motor home is running
It would help to know the model of the fridge, but if it is like mine, you have two illuminated switches (for mains & battery) at the LHS and a single yellow light which is the gas igniter on the RHS.
You switch the yellow one on and it will flash. You then turn on the gas knob and hold it it in until the yellow light stops flashing and hey presto, the fridge is working on gas.
If the yellow switch does not flash, I would suspect the 12V supply from the leisure battery- NOT the 12V from the engine. Thinks... is your leisure battery fully charged?
