My Swift Escape C502 has a combined bathroom and shower tap. This stopped working on the second day. I thought it may be a fuse, yet the kitchen tap and toilet are both working, and there is only one fuse marked Water Pumps/MH heaters. Any ideas would be welcome.
Does the pump run when you turn on a tap? I had a problem where the hose from the tap had come adrift at the tap end.
Is it the type of tap that has a microswitch, or does the pump have a pressure switch? If it's a micro switch, check that.
Is there an airlock in the pipes?
Does it affect both hot and cold water?
And of course, maybe the tap is faulty.

Thanks for your advice. I feel embarrassed as when I topped up the fresh water tank it worked again. At the time of the problem the tank was showing 25% full, and the kitchen tap was operating normally. The was no bleep or warning to show what was wrong with bathroom tap. It must be a safety feature to protect the water pump.
It just goes to show how technology advances, and you never stop Learning, in my case a motorhomer for 18 years.

Could be a coincidence. I must admit I'm a dinosaur when it comes to modern technology but I have never heard of any such "safety feature". It does seem a bit pointless if the kitchen tap still works. If your water system uses microswitches it is not at all unusual for them to become intermittent. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. If your water system is a pressurised one which doesn't use microswitched taps, that doesn't apply.
Must admit I've never encountered such a 'safety device'. I do know that the Zig water gauge can be very inaccurate. On previous vans I've replaced it with a simple electronic circuit and LED indicators.

Most pumps are fine with running dry for a very short period, they don't really need much protection, and there is usually a very good indication that the water is running out. When the water from the taps starts spluttering, you just turn the pump off.
Update. I think I must have had a senior moment, and my point about the safety feature was wrong. This van has a lever on the flexible hose tap which pulls out when you shower, or stays in place for a normal wash. I now find that you have first of all to use the rotating tap , to select pressure and temperature , but no water flows out until you operate the lever. Hence I thought there was a fault when I operated the rotating tap and nothing came out. I took delivery of this van on a Ciick and Collect basis, due to the lockdown, so am finding things out as I go along. The van has a lot of warning features, you hear a bleep and then have to look at the error messages to see what is needed, which I think is great.
Anyway it's great to be back on the road again. Best wishes to all .
