We are contemplating moving from our Honda eu1.0 suitcase generator to a Ecoflow River Pro 600. Has anyone any experience using the ecoflow device? We only need for powering the good ladies Dyson hairdryer and coffee pod machine. Any feedback would be appreciated, I know it seems excessive just to dry your hair but we are “living the dream” and enjoy a few home comforts 😁 regards David

Does the MH not have solar panels?

Looking at this vid.....https://youtu.be/NRqw0S1IV0U

Max 600 watts....hair dryer requires between 800-1500

I cannot see it drying your hair, unless you have a crew cut..
Looks great for other things, lights etc.etc.
Me personally, have an insulated box made for the genny, to make it quieter.

Just my two penneth 👌

Hi Kevin that’s what I initially thought but if you watch all of the video the guy powers a heat gun at 1500w allegedly the unit has x boost power and will power up to 1800w. Did you watch the whole video? have I interpreted it incorrectly, your 2 penneth is much appreciated as I don’t want to buy “a pup” cheers David

Yes I watched the whole Vid.. it seems to me the hair dryer will work, however only throwing out enough power to blow cool air.

Would not be spending my money on one, Not when I have a Honda Genny to hand👍👍👍
I am not sure how, however I think the sound proof box for the genny would be best option.
Some one might be along soon with abetter idea. 😉

Hi Kevin carrying the Honda generator is a double potential negative (though have done so for some time)
1) noise / ability to use during restricted times (we rally quite a lot and times are regulated)
2) carrying petrol in the motorhome during transit
Fortunately or unfortunately (jury still out on that) I’m as bald as a coot only my good lady has hair and luckily the dyson hairdryer she has is only needed on first heat setting so no high temperature output required. The flexibility and safety advantages of not carrying smelly petrol will be worth the money as I propose to sell the Honda
The heat gun used as an example on the video used lower heat setting which I presume will be more than the hairdryer, my wife’s hair is not currently “frazzled” which I’m sure would be if she’d used heat gun on low setting. I genuinely appreciate your feedback as a second opinion is always welcomed
Cheers David

These kind of power stations are fine, but for running heavy loads, it’s all about battery capacity, you would probably have to charge the ecoflow up after each days use.

And I notice that the Ecoflow uses Lithium ion cells, if you are going for this kind of of the shelf solution at least buy one that uses LiFeP04 (Lithium Iron) cells, it will run for far more cycles than a Lithium ion based unit.

If you don’t need all the bells and whistles of the Ecoflow, you would probably be better putting your money into a 100Ah LiFeP04 leisure battery and a 1,500watt Pure Sign Wave inverter cost would be about the same, but would give you about double the capacity, so a lot longer runtime between charging.

Check out Will Prowse on YouTube, he has tested all the Power Stations out there, or solar generators as they are otherwise known.

My Mrs loves her "Babyliss big hair" fortunately it's reasonably powered too at low 350w high 750w. So it's not too bad for the battery.

I will let you know what happens when I get the new power pack......I will be honest with my review! Mrs L recons that if she couldn't live without without a hair drier, she wouldn't want a campervan. Thing is, you're living in a motorhome, not a house. Much as it would be nice to have every home comfort, you have to make compromises. I'd love to have a dishwasher in my van, but that's hardly practical. (Cue jokes about marrying a dishwasher )

If you stay on a site that has facilities (or even a CL) you will most likely have EHU, so no problem.

Evening Captain lightning, I think you’re missing the point, the reason for the post was to establish whether anyone had experience / knowledge of the product?, no matter what, my wife would like to style her hair! My request was for feedback / suitability on the alternatives to the generator
Cheers David
