I need to change my leisure battery on my motorhome which as a solar panel on
Which is the best way to go and change this
Some people say just cover solar panel with some carpet
Outhers have said take the fusses out between solar panel and display panel
I think my fusses are on top of my motorhome

Would it actually make any difference with the solar panel if the battery was only disconnected for a very short time? Only takes a minute to swap a battery terminals.

It’s easy, take old battery out put new one in, no need to cover anything.

Worked for me.

I would disconnect one of the solar cables first where the solar panel cable enters the controller. Put a bit of tape round it.

Or do it at night as suggested. You're taking a risk if you don't bother disconnecting it, some cheap controllers will break, some may reset themselves for a 24v battery bank.

The instructions we have with our solar panel are to remove the fuse before doing anything on the circuit.
