I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
At 37000 miles I would not bother. The manual changes since late noughts as I have an 08 Audi where the original manual says only change after 55k. Now the Audi say every x years too. I think this all came about due to some VW golfs belts snapping pre the distance limit and everyone had a panic. I am not saying they are wrong to panic but still what was once right is now not.
If it has a chain, nothing to worry about.
If it has a belt, change it in line with manufacturers recommendations at the latest. Belts degrade with age as well as mileage.
If a belt snaps and you are very lucky and have a non-interference engine you will be inconvenienced. If it is an interference engine (as most seem to be nowadays) the engine is scrap
