Hello, we have a drive away awning which really suits us (outdoor revolution movelite t2), but have changed our van and the awning rail is now too low. Has anyone done an alteration or know how to?
Despite the spec saying it is for 255 - 305, and our rail is 260 there is so much material we have a huge bow the roof which would collect a lot of water if it rains. it wouldn't be useable. Don't really want to go to the expense of changing it so wondered if we could alter it in some way. Has anyone done it or got advice?
Can it go over the top & get pegged down on the other side or hook onto wheel arches? Not speaking from experience but from what I’ve seen on site recently.

I have also seen this done with guy ropes attached and thrown over the roof and pegged in the other side of camper.

I have tightened all of the straps to the maximum and it is very baggy.
We do have the ability to throw it over the van and strap it the other side - we used to do then when a previous van didn’t have an awning rail. Would ideally like to not have to do this - size of van / physically having to do it / watertight over the door and we have a solar panel and Ariel on the roof to avoid too. But if there is no other way of easily altering it then we could go back to trying this.
I think there is less than 10cm to the top of the van, certainly not enough to make a big enough difference. Been look at the roof of my van too (as it’s new to us) and the solar panel is right above the door so the awning would go across it if pulled over!
