totally new to all this and the campervan
which came today 19/11/21.
I have purchased a Citroen c15 tanfield romahome which I am told is 30 years old runs okey.
My problem is I have not instruction booklet or I am unable to find anything on this romahome so I am not sure exactly what I need to do to get things working
I know I have gas water lights etc. But there may be other things within the unit I do not know off.
There are c15 van information but I think this is not what I am looking for.
Can anyone give me some guidance on where I may find the information or possibly point me in the right direction
Stuff like cookers, toilets(if you have one), fridges etc will have maker's name and if you're lucky model number on them. You should be able to find user manuals for them on line.
www.smallmotorhome.co.uk/downloads.html Hi Paul, welcome to the forum. Try this site, there are many downloadable manuals and a lot of the members have C15 Romahomes as well as other types.
I have a Romahome on a Daihatsu. The base vehicle and the Romahome body have no connection to each other, so please stop calling it a Citroen Romahome. Now, what is your problem? The Citroen part, or the Romahome part. I have never heard of a Tanfield Romahome.
That may be what your logbook says, but take it from me that when you start looking for parts for a Citroen Romahome, no supplier will know what you are talking about. It is either a Citroen C15 for all mechanical parts, or Romahome for camper parts. The Romahome is very simple with only a water tank and pump, a hob, and a fridge. All linked by gas lines with Isolator valves and a Leisure battery that may or may not have a split charger, or other charging links. You probably have an EHU as well. Tanfield I believe is nothing more than a dealership through whos hands your vehicle has passed at some time.
Good luck and have some fun with it. Get on the C15 groups so that you know where to find the parts that you will need. The Romahome part is much easier once you have it all checked out.
If you have no knowledge of gas of electric it would be a good idea to get the camper part serviced. Known as a habitation service any caravan workshop or mobile caravan mechanic can do this. Then you will have an idea of what does & does not work.
How it should work is that you connect a gas bottle. Propane in winter cooker & fridge on gas should work. Plug into mains & fridge should work on mains electric. Interior lights & watertap should work on the 12v system. Fridge is designed to work on 12v only when you are driving.
