I'm looking to replace bulbs in my PVC van with LEDs.
The reading light Tower Led's come with 5 - 27 Led's on them. What size would I need for a decent not too bright light?
Also I have a central rose light with 2 bulbs that I can switch one or both on. The side pin LEDs come with 6-21 Led's what size would be optimal?
I want to buy 'warm' Lights.

I tried 'warm' LEDs, but quickly swapped to 'cool' ones.

Not sure what the 'Tower' is. My van has semi-recessed reading lights which initially used 10W halogens. I swapped these for 2W Cool white bulbs and this proved fine. Basically you can use an LED of approx 1/5 the wattage of the halogen bulb.

I’m not well up on this but we check lumens rather than watts. We’re not swapping some bulbs at home yet because the lumens of ones we tried are currently less than what we have at present, and noticeably less good for reading.
Another vote for warm white, but it’s a personal choice. We had cold white lights on the Christmas tree & it felt very harsh & far too bright. We changed to warm white lights next Christmas & wrapped the cold white ones along the stair bannister, where they stay all year.

I've learned to say "Yes dear", but thankfully mine agreed with the choice of 'cool' white. We found the 'warm' was a tad too mellow.

As for Lumen, you make a good point, but I had no real idea of the light output of the existing bulbs in my van. I just took a chance and the lights I bought turned out OK.

I fitted warm white and we like the colour as it's the same as normal bulbs 👌

We prefer warm white too as cool white seem harsh and a bit too clinical. They might be ok for reading lights, but not for general lighting. All a matter of personal taste though, everyone is different.

I too prefer the warmer light, but have a cool white in the kitchen area. As for discussions with my wife, I just do things and she doesn't usually even notice.
