Just got a 1998 Peugeot Boxer Elddis Autostratus. Only thing i find not working yet is the Cascade 2 water heater. Vented taps of air bled the gas and turned on the electric from the wall switch. Steady green light showing. When switch first turned on there was a click at the heater and then nothing. Has the heater packed up or is there another operation i have to carry out.

Frequent questions about this heater. Have you tried searching this forum? Put Carver into the Search box & at least 5 threads will come up.
I’m wondering if something blew during the winter frosts before you got it.
But it’s a reminder that the best thing to do when you first get a MH is to have a Habitation Service done. We had a bird’s nest in our gas heater flue… not good.

When you switch on the heater, the green light comes on, you get a click as the gas valve opens, then the igniter tries to light the gas and if that works within 10 secs, the green light stays on. If it doesn't light, there is another click as the gas valve closes and the red light comes on.

Sounds as if the heater is working OK. Go outside and check if warm air is coming from the heater vent. It takes quite a while before you get hot water.

Apart from a damp check and gas safety check, I'm dubious about the value of habitation checks. 90% you can do yourself.

Two drifters off to see the world.

I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.

The Cascade does have a reset button under a little swing cover on the inward end of the boiler. It might be worth giving it a reset to see if it solves the problem.

The reset button is for the electric element assuming the heater is a Cascade GE (Gas and Electric). Odd faults with the igniter board can give the appearance of everything working ok but the burner has not lit. As previous posters have mentioned once you believe it to be lit go outside and feel for warmth from the heater exhaust, if nothing can be felt it is likely the burner hasn't ignited. For repairs or very valuable advice on Carver heaters best to contact Gary at Arc Systems in Nottingham.
