Came to a site a few weeks ago and there was an electrical surge. Ever since our water pumps have not worked. Ive replaced the fuses in the power supply unit and the pump indicator light is displayed as working. The pumps do not make any noise at all. Does anyone have any helpful ideas or recommendations on an engineer. We are currently in Oxfordshire (Wallingford) many thanks. Ps once home we are based in Basildon in Essex.

I presume the pump in an onboard one. Have you checked to see if there is another fuse actually on the pump or inline with it close by? I wouldn't think that a mains surge would affect a 12 volt pump.

Thanks for your reply. Yes it’s onboard I don’t actually know where the pump is situated on the Motorhome I’ve only found fuses in the power supply unit so far. I’m wondering if the pump has just given up the Motorhome is 10 years old. Thank you.

Pumps are usually situated fairly close to the tank, which I would imagine is in a locker somewhere, probably under a seat. My info is only general in nature because I don't know that particular motorhome. It is indeed possible the pump has failed, although 10 years is certainly by no means old. Unless the motorhome has had a really hard life, virtually continuous use such as a hire vehicle, pumps can last a lot longer than that. Easiest way to check is to find the pump and put a multi-meter across the supply to it. If the supply is live, the pump has almost certainly had it.
