A network of French style 'aires' will be developed in Gwynedd to allow campervans to stay overnight in the county's towns. Gwynedd Council has secured funding for six sites that will be located within walking distance of town centres. The sites should open in Spring 2023
The Ayrshire ones charged £5 pn last year but that didn’t cover costs (there are brand new toilets, for example) so it’s £10 this year. I don’t know what French Aires cost.
In tandem with this, sleeping overnight in MHs on residential streets in the five seaside towns with Aires now risks a fine. It’s the latter point that’s welcome to local people.
