The company that converted my PVC, namely Young Conversions in Bletchley near Milton Keynes for me recommended Safeguard, and I was able to get a 10% discount due to referral when I took out my first insurance with them last year.

Young Conversions use them for insuring their own private vans.

Have you tried both the clubs yet for a quote? Never done any good with CAMC but have used CCC before.

Also Towergate and Caravanguard (with them at present)

Path20 Has not mentioned the value of the new motorhome ? or where it will be kept/ stored, did mention his/her approx age., I suggested Adrian Flux, because I am with them. My van is 16yrs old in lovely condition bought from new. Insured fully comprehensive, protected NCB, used for pleasure only ect , My premium this year £182. How on earth a figure of £5000 was quoted unless the van is valued over £120,000 is puzzling .

I have always insured mine via the CMC (you have to be a member) who seemed competitive with the rest of the market but it does depend on the model and value? Comfort is often recommended by long time motorhomers so might be worth getting a quote.

I'm 55 and got quoted £389 for our converted van from Adrian Flux. I went with Lifesure (a small company) and just paid £228 last week with a load of extras like 90days euro cover and all the usual windscreen insurance etc.

Adrian Flux phoned me back and said they'd got it down to £225 but when I saw the offer he's simply turned every feature off to a bare bones policy. I won't bother going back to them now as they are always super expensive.
