If your wind out canopy is Fiamma branded, it will most likely have 2 grooves in it. They are different sizes. If just one you will need to make sure that whatever awning you buy that it would fit that one. Measured in MM.
Drive away awnings CAN and DO stand alone. Facilitating leaving the awning on your pitch, to return to after a day out.
I think that it would be a good idea to have a look at a company called Attwoolls Outdoors of Whitminster. There you can watch videos of M.H. awnings and hear and see how to attach to the van (if that is what you want) They have a huge range. You can make a choice that way for exactly what is needed and how to do it. I don't want to talk about Kador rails and figure of 8 strips, as this can get complicated to write..but is most certainly not complicated to do. Personally we never attach our awning to our van. Another thing, size of awning...make sure you CAN lawfully carry that extra weight. They do eat up legal weight limits. Let us know how you get on and welcome to our world.
