Don’t take this the wrong way, but I really think you would be better seeking out the services of an auto electrician.

If you get in contact with your local caravan/motorhome dealer ask them who they use and go from there.

Since trying to fit it in the van is it still showing any reading on a volt meter?

It's possible the rapid discharge of current that's pasted though it wont have done it any good. It may work fine on low load but once under higher load or changing. It may show signs of damage eg becoming hot and may start venting gas or fizzing. If in doubt best to get it checked over.

You say its all work fine on EHU and fusers are ok. As well as checking the fusers did you check the the cables connecting the battery to van for damage ?

The problem sounds to be either the battery has been damaged or cables connecting are. Given what you've said it sounds like the battery.

Do you still have the old one ? if so it maybe an idea to connect it up and test the cables ect are still ok.

Just seen the picture not sure why it only just shown up. It looks to have not had visible damage and connections look fine and the fusers look ok. Like i've said and others have best to get it checked out if in doubt. Have you put the plastic covers back on the battery terminals or did they never get removed in the 1st place?

BTW that's a good battery brand

UPDATE

The neighbour may have caused my original problem according to what he has now told me.

When the Motorhome was connected direct to the house on EHU. He put the multi meter direct on the end of the leisure battery terminals which gave a reading of 13.

The leisure BaTTERY WAS NOT CONNECTED TO THE TERMINALS AT THIS TIME.

I have been told the three way charger unit may have taken the full brunt of this mistake.

The three way charger still has the red power light working but I’m taking it to electronic company on Tuesday for testing.

In the mean time if any one has experience or knowledge of this latest update would be appreciated one way or another.

If this 3 way charger is broke or damaged behind repair the company in Edinburgh has ceased trading.

Thank you

THANK YOU THANK YOU

to everyone that’s helped make this happen we are up and everything’s running 100%. My son checked all the wires around leisure battery.

The two main wires that feed the battery terminals which was hidden from view behind the leisure battery the fitting had perished.

We have new quick release positive and negative new terminals fitted

He replaced the fitting and photos to confirm. It appeared to have a broken/missing terminal.

This could have been like this a long time as I stated we had not used the leisure battery for years.

Or it could be a case it shorted when I put the positive terminal on caught the drivers seat casing with the spanner.

The 3 way charger is fine.

We have been very lucky and can not thank everyone for you individual and collective input.

If you every on a site I would love you to come and have a

That explains a few things the battery looked untouched in that photo. Sounds like you're a step nearer to getting things sorted. Hopefully when you take it in next week. They will be able to find the real source of the fault. If the charger is cooked then who you're taking it to maybe able to get you a suitable replacement. It maybe an internal repair is all you need they should be able to tell if is.

Plenty of options for a replacement once you know what rating you need.

Just-us3

Finding the broken connection behind the leisure battery and using the new coupling has resolved all my problem. We finally decided to put the replacement AGM Leisure Battery on.

We also as stated we replace the old negative and positive battery terminals for new quick realise ones and everything is working as before.

Leisure battery doing its job. 3 way charger doing its job and EHU doing its job.

All the appliances work on 12v and EHU.

Thank you personally for your help.

My next project is having Solar panel fitted and correct charger unit.

Probably next year I’ve had. Enough need to get my wife out and about.

My heart won’t take any more stress this year.

Thank you again everyone Stay Safe.
