Has anyone use the magnetic connector kits for driveway awnings? Any thoughts or recommendations? I can see varying reviews about the strength of the magnets - are they worth the price?

Hi, I have a magnetic strip for our drive away awning. About £25 I think a few years ago. I have a self-converted van and did not want a permanent fixing to the van.
I found the magnetic strip to be adequate though I have not used in strong winds. It came with guy lines for extra security. These are long enough to peg into the ground on the opposite side of the van but I modified the van's roof-rack fixing points and tied the guy lines to these. That way I could open the sliding door on that side of the van.
Make sure the magnetic is the right way up! I mistakenly had it the wrong way around once and wondered it wouldn't stick. Duh!
