We are campervan Virgins and so know nowt!
Have we wound this out far enough? High enough on legs etc? And might anyone know what model it is so I can look it up please?
Unfortunately the guy who sold us the van was a bit useless giving us information about many things to do with the van.
Any advice on cleaning also appreciated. Fank oooo.

I’d say no, wind it out further until the arms pretty much lock. They won’t be completely straight though. You can adjust the leg height if necessary so one is shorter eg to drain rainwater off or block low sun.
We’ve never cleaned ours, and make sure we store it dry.
Rarely use it though, as we like the sun & don’t like leaving it up in windy weather. Very useful to mark out your space on sites where people cross your pitch.
As for the model, it might be written on the outside of the casing.
If you wind it out fully, take its measurements and take another photo, then send an email to Thule and they will be able to help.
Having recently dealt with them they offer excellent service.

As well is two words!

Roll out awnings are pretty much dare I say, useless. They are for giving shade and shelter in sun and light rain on a warm day.
The sun moves, therefore you will not get shade for much of a day, unless you care to move the van around. The alternatives are rolling it back in, until it stores/locks and attaching to the 'outside' runners (most have 2 of them) a very simple form of sheet and pegging that down to the ground.
We have had three brand new motorhomes, the first never had one at all. The second two of them, we decided to have them fitted (as they are a good selling point) but cost a bomb.
We have 2 'real' awnings, one small and one large, both are 'air awnings' and are both fantastic store rooms and shelter from both sun and rain.
