I've tried looking for information regarding if the wooden floors in motorhomes are structural. Due to my nievity and lack of knowledge I've purchase a motorhome with lots of rot in the timber floors around the edges. It's gone beyond the spongy stage and a finger can be pushed through the floor in many places with little effort. I had checked the mot history at DVLA before I viewed the 2003 vehicle and it had never had any mot failures or advisories regarding the common rust areas on the chassis around the suspension etc and no mention of the wood rot. Any information would be much appreciated. Ray58

Welcome aboard.
Have you tried google for ideas. I seem to remember a few years back a man doing up an older van that had been neglected. Maybe some one will be able to recall that, as he did make videos of his work. Unfortunately a lot of people are in a similar situation to you this last couple of years.
Try looking on you tube under repairs to camper, or something similar. I hope you get replies soon.

Yep, just had a google around and found floor repairs in MH wooden floors. A couple of clowns doing the job, but looks o.k and sturdy.
Just google M.H. wooden floor repairs. If they can do it I bet you can. Good luck.

My '72 VW Westy has its original wooden floor to which the furniture is screwed. It was replaced some years ago when a water leak softened the timber despite it being treated.

The guys who did the job commented that in the event of a heavy impact strong enough to shift the furniture, the wooden floor would save the steel floor from damage as fixing screws tore loose. I hope I never find out!
