Hi all
I have ordered an Adria Matrix 670DC due for delivery later this year and the only concession i had to make was that it does not come fitted with a microwave.
However, whilst at the show in October last year, we were talking to a couple in there restaurant over lunch that had an Adria Matrix , which they took delivery of last year, who told us their dealer had found a microwave that fitted in one of the cupboards?
Ideally the cupboard above the fridge would be ideal, if we could find one small enough.
Has anyone managed to do this and could recommend where they fitted it and what model microwave they fitted in either the Adria Matrix or Coral which has the same layout inside?

When we ordered our last 2 campervans we had the oven replaced with a microwave combo oven which suits us best. Obviously only for when we are on EHU.

Can't help with what will definitely fit in your van, but the factory fitted microwave in my Lunar caravan (I've seen it in many others too) is a Daewoo KOR6L5R http://(http://www.welovemicrowaves.co.uk/daewoo-kor6l5r/), which is low wattage (800W output, 1200W consumption - important for lower rated EHUs! MWs use far more power than the rating on the front/labels would suggest, as that is the cooking power NOT the power consumption, expect power consumption to be up to TWICE the output power!), compact size AND relatively light weight (important when mounted high up in a eyelevel locker! - that high up weight can affect caravan handling when towing!), it also has a auto zero power consumption shut down function when not in use. Think that model has been updated since my van was built in 2016, so new version may differ in some ways.
It's effectively fitted in a standard eyelevel kitchen cupboard. The flip up cupboard door has a microwave sized hole cut in it so it acts as a decorative bezel that hides the gaps in the cupboard around the MW. The feet of the microwave sit in four wells in the base of the cupboard to locate it, and there is a hinged u shaped 'yoke' that swings down from roof of cupboard to wedge the MW in position, other caravan manufacturers use different securing methods - some form of restraint is ESSENTIAL, when the yoke on mine works itself loose from time to time, the MW moves significantly in transit and could actually fly out of the cupboard!
Importantly though, there is a dedicated airvent in the roof of the van to vent steam from the MW and prevent excessive condensation build up in the cupboard space - it still gets quite damp with heavy usage!
Mains power (no 12v power needed) is taken from a standard mains socket fitted in an adjacent cupboard (there's a hole in wall big enough to pass plug through). Good practice NOT to fit the mains socket actually in the MW cupboard as that can get quite damp with steam/condensation from MW cooking, and accordingly become both at risk of corrosion and a electric shock risk when damp!
Probably don't need telling if experienced users, but don't forget the glass turntable in transit! Remove and stow safely, or wedge in place (I use a cut to size piece of expanded polystyrene packing to wedge my turntable tightly in place), otherwise it'll likely break and/or batter the inside of MW when it jiggles around from van road movement!

Indeed, a very important factor. Our Coachman was built with virtually no ventilation for the microwave, but there was a small plastic grill in the bottom of the cupboard.
I removed the grill and installed a small 12volt computer fan on the floor of the cupboard and then replaced the plastic grill. The 12 volts was obtained via a 12 volt adaptor in a nearby socket taking care it could supply adequate current. It produces a limited, but sufficient airflow to keep the MW cool.

My standard factory fitted MW, has a dedicated passive roof vent, and now you jogged my memory, I think plastic vents in the bottom of the cupboard too, BUT with heavy use there is quite a lot of condensation in the cupboard, AND once, with heavy use it tripped out on the thermal overload and took some time to cool enough to restart! Adequate ventilation is vital, and caravan manufacturers (at least mine and yours!) barely make adequate provision, anyone fitting a non OE MW needs to do some butchery to the van to ensure ventilation is up to the task, not just wedge it in a convenient cupboard.

we have an Adria 670 and have fitted a microwave over the fridge, certainly not ideal BUT it works for us. we had the microwave power reduced by a company near Ashford, Kent and have recently fitted a 300AH Lithium battery from fogstar and a 2kw inverter so we can use it off grid.
so long as you leave enough space around the microwave and are not using it on full power for long periods, then the issue re steam etc should not be a problem, though i do like the 12v fan suggestion
weve had the microwave fitted for about a year now and had no issues. we removed the cupboard door front and have that stored safely at home. we removed the tv bracket from the cupboard and fitted tv points in the rear and front of the motorhome
