You need to give more details as it depends on the engine. Is it the Ford Transit 2.4 Diesel? I believe these have a chain, but should lookup the specs for the engine, not the van conversion.

It has PAS. Just need to confirm belt or CHAIN engine no is WFOAXXGBVAW55203. Hope this helps

All you need to do is unscrew the fixings at the top of the engine cam belt/chain cover and have a peep inside. If it has a plain black top then it's a rubber cam belt but if it steel and shiny then it's a cam chain.

The MH model makes no difference. Our 1993 Autosleeper was on a VW T4 cab, what is yours on?
Ours had no PAS problems, drove beautifully. I think we had a belt - but whatever it was, it was on upside down. I would get the vehicle serviced by a good independent garage & DIY thereafter.
And get a habitation service done for the MH to make sure all the gas & electrics are ok. Our gas fire flue had a birds nest in it.

Where is the best place to see engine number. I'm told the one I quoted is chassis number.

That is not a VIN, VINs have 17 numbers and letters. It would be much easier for you to just tell us what the base vehicle is e.g Ford Transit, Peugeot boxer etc, and the engine size. The correct full VIN will be on your V5 along with the engine capacity and most likely the chassis manufacturer. Failing that, maybe just post a picture of the front of the engine.

Probably not always the case these days but often cam-belts are visible whereas cam-chains never are as they need to be enclosed and run in oil.

Looking at ones the same year and model for sale are built on ford chassis. That years Ford engine lists cam belts. As above post,if it just has a cover over it cambelt, but if fixed casing with gasket to engine then cam chain. There were manufacturers about selling kits to convert to chain years ago.
