We have upgraded to a new LWB Ducato with a Fiamma wind-out canopy which you use to attach the awning to.

We have a Vango Kela V Low awning but the van requires a Medium height awning.

We attached the Low awning and it is too stretched and taught, also restricts the door.

Any recommendations for something like an extra width Kador attachment that will extend the width of the tunnel so not so tight.

I don't want to wind out the Fiamma a little to extend as strong wind causes it to shake the van and may damage it in the longer term.

Kela V is spot on and don't want the fuss and expense of selling to buy a new one.

(An additional problem is the Fiamma requires 4mm attachment and most awnings are 6mm).

Thanks

Fiamma roll out awnings. These are good, but they are only of any use to stop the sun for maybe 3 hours a day. The sun moves, your van is pitched. Plus if you leave the van awning out and it rains it will puddle and leak over.
We also have 2 Vango awnings. Both tall, and used only as stand alone (they have to be able to stand alone for when you drive away and go out for the day). We just pitch alongside the van why do any other? We eat / read in there, and store stuff.
We have been doing that since 2008 and find it the best way to use them.
Don't worry about it. They can stand alone and you can still use the roll out.

Agree. Get a drive-away awning if you need something. I’ve seen people spend an hour trying to get the vehicle back to exactly the right spot to thread in the tunnel on the wind-out. Defeats the beauty of a campervan or MH - drive up, hook up, seats out, sorted.
Just think about the awning volume & weight & where you’ll carry it in the vehicle & what you’re using it for (storage, extra sleeping etc). We don’t bother, we’d rather carry the folding bikes or golf clubs.

We barely use it but the Grandkid stays in the awning and I'm not ready for him to be in a standalone tent.

Problem solved, picked up a Vango cove ii medium...hopefully give us a few years of use. Thanks

I peg down a hi visibility guy rope marking where the centre of the wheels are once the awning is up, so when reversing back after a day out its a lot easier to align and can be done and connected in minutes few. I think only on one occasion we didn't connect the tunnel, that was mid summer last year in the New Forrest as we had to driveaway early to get to Beaulieu to show off our M/H at the Simply French event....
