I’m just back from a site where there were SWB PVCs of Vauxhall, Peugeot (Fiat?) & Ford base vehicles.
WildAx has also come to mind from past Shows, as doing ingenious conversions.
And smart rear awning https://thecampercoshop.com/products/reimo-ducatissimo-premium-rear-tent
We have a Toyota Alphard. Very nice to drive, all are automatic. Size is bigger than a Bongo, about the same size as a transporter short wheel base, Toyota's are muck more reliable and much cheaper than a Volkswagen. We purchased ours from Northstar conversions on the Isle of wight, but there are many dealers and private sellers through out the UK.
We have a SWB VW T5 campervan and this fits nicely into car parking spaces. My husband also uses it as his daily drive. We have 2 dogs and our Boxer Staffy X loves it and can't wait to get in when he senses we're off camping! Ours has sliding doors both sides but we have units/cupboards on the driver side.
