I am not 100% certain what you are asking, so please bear with me.
By the sound of it, you should be booking a pitch for a tent with your van as your vehicle.
As for how to fix your tent to your van, you could try using a tarp.
Personally, I would have looked for a suitable drive away awning, with is in effect a tent with an integral tarp with sides to bridge the space in between the vehicle and the entrance to the awning.
A drive away awning will offer more privacy than a separate stand alone tent IMHO.
A drive away awning usually have a door that can be zipped up too.
