Hi, my rear brake light on my 52 ford transit isnt working again. After cleaning the elements and replacing the bulb i got it working. Not sure if the bulb is making complete contact with the mental element where the bulb goes? Has anyone got any ideas? Thanks.
get a small screwdriver and re-bend the contacts toward the lamp contacts, also slot it down the side and of the bulb receiver and give it a twist in a couple of places so the holder grips the bulb better and the bottom tangs make full contact with the bulbs terminals. Its caused by vibration working the bulbs loose.

Thanks, ive got it working again. Ive bent the contacts slightly, the metal surround is slighly lose meaning the bulb isnt sitting quite flush. Not sure what im twisting, the two metal elements where the bulb sits? Thanks Andrew
Clean and polish the metal below the glass on the bulb and the two small protruding studs that lock it into place with Brasso because any surface corrosion on the metal can impact the functioning of the bulb. Also, on the main base plate check and clean the earth connection tab as it may need cleaning with a needle file to remove any surface rust which is also part of the circuit.
